Lily M. Duryee, 87 of Hopkins, went to be with her Lord on Friday, August 8, 2003 at Metron of Allegan. Mrs. Duryee was born November 10, 1915 in Hopkins Township, MI the daughter of Martin and Elizabeth (Wamhoff) Pueschel. She did book work at her husband's gas station in Hopkins and in later years wrote articles for the Allegan County News. She was a member of St. Pauls Lutheran Church, Hopkins, the Ladies Aid Society and the LWMS. She is survived by 1 son, James E. Duryee of Hopkins; 1 brother, Robert Pueschel of Wayland; 1 sister, Vivian Roberts of Hopkins; 6 sisters-in-law, Hulda Puschel of Hopkins, Margaret Pueschel of Sturgis, Violet Brewer of Byron Center, Elma Schweikert of Allegan, Geraldine Eakin of Battle Creek, Naomi Weaver of Otsego; 2 brothers-in-law, Oliver (Frieda) Duryee of Florida, Cleon (Marilyn) Duryea of Hopkins; and several dear nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Everette in 1979; 4 brothers, Bruno, Ernest, Albert and Edgar; and 2 sisters, Esther Pueschel and Alma Haveman. The family will receive friends Monday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at the Gorden Funeral Residence, Hopkins Chapel. The Funeral Service will be Tuesday 11:00 am at St. Pauls Lutheran Church, Hopkins. Pastor Donald W. Seelhoff officiating. Interment Maplewood Cemetery, Hopkins Township. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Pauls Lutheran Church or Wayland Ambulance.
