Trowbridge Twp., Allegan, MI, died Monday, August 10, 2009 at the Allegan General Hospital. Mrs. Rasmussen was born April 14, 1914 in Kendall, the daughter of Charles and Myrtle (Clugston) VanHorn. She was a long-time resident of Allegan and Fennville and had owned and operated a restaurant in Fennville with her sister. She had also worked at the Michigan Fruit Canners, Darling Dept. Store in Allegan, Lifesavers in Holland, the Allegan County Medical Care Facility and the Allegan County Fair at the main gate ticket office. Surviving are 2 sons and their wives, Allan and Claudia Rasmussen and David and Janet Rasmussen, all of Allegan; 6 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; 6 great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gordon, 2 sisters, Alice Fazer and Elosie Herring and 2 brothers, Albert and Clayton VanHorn. Friends may meet with the family from 11 a.m. Thursday until time of funeral service at 12 noon Thursday at the Gorden Funeral Residence, Allegan Chapel. Pastor Katherine Culpepper officiating.
