of Allegan, died Friday, October 24, 2014, at Bronson Methodist Hospital. Mr. Smith was born November 22, 1942, in Cheshire Twp., the son of Leonard and Helen (Heath) Smith. Butch was a Veteran of the United States Army, serving in Vietnam. He worked for over 20 years with Roger Smith Sand and Gravel, he also worked for Padnos Steel in Holland, and farmed a big share of his life. Surviving are his 5 children: Teresa and Thomas Hamlet, Donna and Chuck Ford, Rebecca Crysdale, Brad Smith and Crystal Marsman, Sarah and Michael King; many great and great great grandchildren; his brother: Roger and Janet Smith; 2 sisters: Barb and Mel Taylor, Betty Smith; his special friend and sidekick: Rainen; many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his wife: Colleen; 2 grandsons: Jeremiah and Calvin; and his sister: Shirley Heath. Friends may meet with the family on Wednesday, October 29, 2014, from 11-1 pm, at the Gorden Funeral Residence, Allegan Chapel, where services will be held at 1pm. Pastor Herb Curry will officiate. Interment at Lindsley Cemetery, Cheshire Twp.
