of Hopkins, died Sunday, September 18, 2011, at the Allegan General Hospital. Mr. Hoerner was born June 15, 1915, in Hopkins Twp., the son of Charles and Golda (Packer) Hoerner. Leonard farmed in the Hopkins area for 90 years, he was in the barn with his father at 4 years old. He loved the farm life style, taking care of the animals, the land, helping his neighbors, and friends. Surviving are his sister, Esther and Stanley Hilaski of Hopkins, 6 nieces and nephews; Leo and Shirley Hilaski, Gary Hilaski, Diane Hilaski, Mark and Kathy Hilaski, all of Hopkins, Karen and Lyle Thompson of Allegan, and Philip and Dawn Hilaski of Hopkins, many great nieces and nephews and great great nieces and nephews. Leonard was preceded in death by his sister, Evelyn. Friends may meet with the family on Wednesday, September 21, from 6-8pm at the Gorden Funeral Residence, Hopkins Chapel, where funeral services will be held on Thursday at 1 pm. Pastor Trayton Lull will officiate. Interment Maplewood Cemetery, Hopkins Twp. Memorials may be made to the Hopkins FFA.
