Obituary

Scofield, Leo D., Allegan, went to be with his Lord on Saturday, June 15, 2002. Leo was born August 18, 1935 in Allegan, the son of Fredrick & Lillian (Christman) Scofield. Leo had attended the Chicora Country Chapel for over 30 years and on Saturday during the church social he died. He was a Veteran of the United States Army having served in Korea and was a member of the Local#324 operating engineer's for over 40 years, mainly as a crane operator. Surviving are his wife, Wanda (Babbitt), 2 children; Scott & Lorrie Scofield of Allegan and Kandy & Rick Steinke of Otsego, 4 grandchildren Dustin, Heather, Pete and Adam, 2 brothers, Fred & Betty Scofield and Butch Sherwood, 1 sister, Toreen Sherwood all of Allegan, several nieces & nephews. Friends may meet with the family on Monday from 2-4 & 6-8 pm at the Gorden Funeral Residence, Allegan Chapel, where funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 1pm. Pastor Herb Curry from the Chicora Country Chapel will officiate. Military Graveside services will be conducted by the Otsego VFW Post 3030 at Rowe Cemetery in Cheshire Twp. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Assoc.
