of Hopkins, died Tuesday, May 26, 2009, at his home. Mr. Anderson was born March 30, 1918, in Hopkins Twp., the son of Holger and Alice (Collings) Anderson. Leo was a dairy farmer in the area all of his life. He and his wife raised many foster children over the course of their life, among them were, Tom Tuinstra of Hopkins, and David Taylor of Hopkins, also surviving are 4 grandchildren, Wiebe, Sharon, Sandra and Calvin, 4 great grandchildren, Matt, Sheri, Katie and Alex, several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his wife, Bernadean, 1 great grandson, James Leo Herring, 1 great granddaughter, Cassidy Spaman, 2 brothers, Walter and Wayne, 1 sister, Iola Ortman. Friends may meet with the family on Friday from 6-8 pm at the Gorden Funeral Residence, Hopkins Chapel,where funeral services will be held on Saturday at 11 am Pastor George Grevenstuk will officiate. Interment Maplewood Cemetery, Hopkins Twp. Memorials may be made to the Wings of Hope Hospice.
