Allegan, MI, died Christmas Eve at the Allegan Co. Medical Care Facility. He was born July 19, 1907 in Croswell, MI, the son of George and Myrtle (Sheldon) Pomeroy. He graduated from Eastern High School in Detroit and attended Alma College. Between high school and college, he played saxophone with The Footwarmers, a dance band that also entertained on the radio in Sanilac County. He was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Helen (Miller) and second wife, Annette (Brockmeyer Campbell). He retired in 1971 as the Assistant Director of the United Presbyterian Foundation in New York City. For many years he was active with the Society for Preservation and Encouragement of Barbershop Quartet Singing in America, Inc., founding the Middletown (Ohio) chapter, as district officer in the Mid-Atlantic District, and serving on the international board of directors. In his 60's, he was an avid oil painter, but his life-long hobby was photography. He enjoyed working in the darkroom and kept up with changes in photo technology for over 70 years. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Allegan. Surviving are 3 daughters and their husbands, Dorothy and Richard Kuhn, Lawrenceville, GA, Sally Trabulsi and Don Gutheil, Allegan, Sue and Chuck Glander, Columbus, OH; 11 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; a great-great grandson; many loving nieces and nephews; 5 very special stepchildren and their families. Memorial services will be held at the First Presbyterian Church, Allegan, Tuesday, Dec. 30, at 2 p.m. Pastor Joseph Phipps officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to the E.H.
