Obituary

Leila Coffey, 84 of Salem Township, Hamilton went to be with Jesus on Thursday, September 29, 2005 at the Allegan County Medical Care Facility, surrounded by her family. Mrs. Coffey was born December 11, 1920 in Dayton, TN, the daughter of John and Ethel (Leffew) Eakins. She was united in marriage to Clarence Coffey on December 28, 1941 and he preceded her in death on April 8, 2000. She was a member of Burnips Wesleyan Church for over 50 years. Surviving are 5 children and their spouses, John & Esther Coffey of Hamilton, Eileen & Alvin Yates of Hastings, Russell E. & Barbara Coffey of Cleveland, TN, Sherrill & Matthew Miller of Elwood, IN, and Judy & Jody Boyles of Hamilton; 21 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; 3 brothers, Kenneth & Doris Eakins of California, Frank & Janet Eakins of Alto, Delbert & Sandy Eakins of Dowling; 3 sisters, Hazel Engle of Battle Creek, Betty Miller of Marshall, Joyce Askew of Tennessee; several nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by 1 son, Gary Paul in 1958, 1 brothers and 3 sisters, Claude E. Eakins, Marge Bailke, Rose Hand and Ruthie Johnson. Visitation will be held Friday from 5-8 pm at the Gorden Funeral Residence, Allegan Chapel. The family will receive friends Saturday from 10:00 am until time of Funeral Service at 11:00 am at Burnips Wesleyan Church. Pastor Chad McCallum and Pastor William Osborne officiating. Interment Salem Township Cemetery, Burnips. Memorial contributions may be made to the Burnips Wesleyan Church, Allegan County Medical Care Facility or Wings of Hope Hospice.
