Monterey Twp., Allegan, MI, died Friday, June 27, 2008 at Bronson Methodist Hospital, Kalamazoo. Mrs. Stryker was born June 13, 1931 in Detroit, MI, the daughter of Chauncey and Hazel (Brennan) Vail. After retiring in 1978, she moved from Detroit to Allegan. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and had been active in the Allegan Community as a volunteer. Surviving are 7 children, Martin (Carolyn) Stryker, James (Joyce) Stryker, Bill (Yvonne) Meyer, Kathleen Cameron, Steve Meyer, Karen (Bill) Cane, and Barbara (Russ) Pellegrom; 15 grandchildren; several great grandchildren; 1 brother and 1 sister, Sam Vail and Shirley Vail. She was preceded in death by her husband, Chester, 2 daughters, Susan Wezner and Beverly Stamper, and 3 grandchildren, Martin Moran, Samual Moran and Kenneth Stamper. Friends may meet with the family from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the Gorden Funeral Residence, Allegan Chapel, where the Rosary will be recited at 6 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Watson Twp. Rev. Fr. Alan P. Jorgensen, Celebrant. Interment in the Church Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Wings of Hope Hospice or Sacred Heart Altar Society.
