CLAWSON, Laura A. Age 97 of Allegan, died Sunday, March 31, 2002 at the Allegan County Medical Care Facility. Mrs. Clawson was born December 5, 1904 in Allegan Township, MI, the daughter of Watson and Mae (Wells) Dunklee. She graduated from Allegan County Normal and enjoyed teaching at many country schools for more than 40 years. She was a member of the South Monterey United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women. She liked to travel and read. Surviving are 3 children, Donald and Dolores Clawson of Plainwell, Norma and Robert Thompson of Allegan and Robert Clawson of Otsego; 9 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest, in 1960, son, Harold in 1951, 3 brothers, 1 sister and 1 great granddaughter. Friends may meet with the family from 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the Gorden Funeral Residence, Allegan Chapel, where funeral services will be held Friday at 10 a.m. Pastor Reva Daniel officiating. Interment Poplar Hill Cemetery, Monterey Twp. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Assoc.
