Salem Twp., MI, died Tuesday, September 15, 2009 at his home. Mr. McDowell was born September 20, 1940 in Grand Rapids, the son of Don and Helen (Bennett) McDowell. Surviving are 1 son and his wife, Don and Amanda McDowell of Dorr; 3 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters, Connie McDowell of Kentwood and Pam Eardley of Wyoming. He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Vicki Miersma, and brother, Ron. Friends may meet with the family from 10 a.m. Saturday until time of funeral service at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Gorden Funeral Residence, Hopkins Chapel, Pastor Greg Lubbers from Covenant United Reformed Church, Byron Center, officiating.
