of Cincinnati, formerly of Allegan and Florida, died Thursday, August 26, 2010 at Mt. Washington Care Center in Cincinnati. Mr. Smith was born May 26, 1917, in Otsego, the son of Eugene and Amy (Allen) Smith. Ken worked for many years at Rockwell in Allegan and Valley Metal in Plainwell. He left Allegan in 1960 and spent over 45 years in Florida. He was a Veteran of the United States Army, serving during WWII with the 126th Infantry, 32nd Red Arrow Division, Anti Tank Company. Surviving are his children, Charles and Bunny Smith of FL, Catherine and William Kocher of Ohio and Gregory Smith and his partner Capt. Peter Williams of England, 6 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, 1 brother, Basil and Henrietta Smith of Allegan, 1 sister-in-law, Gene Petroshus of Ohio, many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Irene, his sister and her husband, Hilda and Clare Ashley. Friends may meet with the family on Tuesday from 5-8 pm at the Gorden Funeral Residence, Allegan Chapel, where the Rosary will be recited at 6 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday at 11am at the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Allegan. Rev Fr. Alan P. Jorgensen, Celebrant. Interment in Oakwood Cemetery, Allegan.
