Kenneth "Pete" Moored, 89, of Allegan, MI passed away Friday, August 2, 2024 at Ascension Borgess Hospital in Kalamazoo.  Born May 22, 1935 in Allegan, he was the son of the late Edward and Wilma (Busfield) Moored.  Kenneth was raised on the family farm and lived there until entering the Army in 1960, serving at Ft. Knox, KY and also overseas in Korea. After returning from the Army, he worked for Rockwell International until his retirement in 1992.  In 1964, he married Sally Monroe. Together, they raised four children and remained married until her passing in 1991. Though he officially retired, Kenneth never actually stopped working until the very end.  He was a self-taught mechanic and a jack-of-all-trades with a special fondness for carpentry.  Kenneth was always there to help in whatever way he was able whenever anyone needed something.  He loved to spend time enjoying the outdoors or relaxing with a puzzle.

Kenneth is survived by his children, Joseph (Jasmine) Moored, Mark (Krista) Moored and Lon (Cathy) Moored; siblings, Raymond Moored (AnnMarie Briggs) and Barbara Jerue; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild; and his companion of eleven years, Leona McKee.  Along with his parents and wife Sally, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Wendy Moored; and sister, Phyllis Drozd.

In accordance with his wishes, cremation has taken place and services will be held privately at a later date.
