of Allegan, went to be with his Lord and Savior, on Friday, May 18, 2012, at his home, surrounded by his family. Ken was born August 13, 1924, in East Saugatuck, the son of Martin and Dicie (Arndt) Heckman. He graduated from Allegan High School in 1941, He was a member of the First Baptist Church for over 60 years, his church was very important to him. Ken owned and operated H&K Construction for 49 years, he developed the subdivision on Babylon Road in Allegan, and farmed the Allegan area most of his life. He was a member of the Rotary Club in Allegan, and was a Paul Harris Fellow. Ken was a craftsman, and loved to work with wood. Surviving are his wife Lorraine, his son, Ted and Vickie Heckman of Allegan, 3 grandchildren; Tod and Angie of Allegan, Kris "Kit" of Allegan, and Amy Heckman of Georgia, 3 great grandchildren; McKennah, DeLaney, and Kendra, his brother, George of Texas, his brother-in-law, Dick and Betty Gurn of FL, several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary, and 5 brothers; Albert, William, Martin, Harold, and Arthur. Friends may meet with the family on Monday, May 21, from 6-8 pm at the Gorden Funeral Residence, Allegan Chapel. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 11 am at the First Baptist Church, Pastors Greg Carlson and Raymond Mayhew will officiate. Interment Hudson Corners Cemetery, Allegan Twp. Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church or Wings of Hope Hospice.
