Kelly L. Harrison Allen, 39, formerly of Pullman, Michigan, passed away unexpectedly in her home in Battle Creek, Michigan on June 6, 2021. Born July 12, 1981 in Allegan, Michigan, she was the daughter of Susie (Davis) Harrison and the late Alfred Harrison. She was a daughter, mother, sister, and loving friend to many.
Raised in Pullman, Michigan for 24 years until she became the wife of Private Tony Forester Allen, a dedicated soldier of the United States Army. Then the proud Army wife and the dedicated soldier went their own ways after 13 years. But she always considered herself a proud Army wife of a dedicated soldier that she never quit loving. And that's why she chose to keep his name.
Kelly had many hard challenges in life, but those challenges helped to make her strong in mind and heart, and she tried hard not to ever give up. She didn't have much, but her love for people made up for that. She always helped people when she could, many times giving when she didn't really have it to give. But her giving is what made her hard life more fulfilling.
Because of her many disabilities (severe neurofibromatosis, bi-polar disorder, border line personality disorder, epilepsy and others) she had always wanted to be a doctor to help find a cure for her various ailments. She even made plans to continue to give after her death. If possible, she wanted to be an organ donor, or if that wasn't possible, she wanted to donate her body to science to do research on what she had and maybe help find a cure for some or all of them. Even if she could help them find a cure for one ailment, she thought that would be progress. Due to circumstances, that wasn't able to happen, but because of what we knew of her wishes, her brain was donated to John Hopkins Brain Institute Research Center.
Kelly loved fur babies. Even her fur babies without hair, and as you can see in her pictures, those babies loved her.
She is survived by her mother, Susie Davis Harrison; her sister, Sheena Harrison; her sons, Joshua Harrison and Tyler Harrison, both of whom have Asperger's autism and multiple other disabilities and will always have love for her. Also, her other children from the dedicated soldier and many other aunts, uncles and cousins. She is also survived by the fur baby that was her love, her support and meant the world to her, her cat, Fat Fat.
She is preceded in death by her father, Alfred Harrison, who passed away February 4, 2009; her oldest sister, Jackie Harrison, who passed away June 8, 2002; her grandparents, Joseph and Rosie Harrison who passed many years ago; and her grandmother, Beulah Davis, who passed away in 2011.
Please remember Kelly as the girl who always had a smile for everyone and wanted to make the world a better place for everyone.
