of Allegan, died Friday, December 2, 2011 at her home. Mrs. Southard was born April 8, 1924, in Cheshire Twp., the daughter of John and Minnie (Coppock) Wait. Kathryn graduated from Fennville High School in 1942. She had worked for the Telephone Company in Allegan for several years, and volunteered her time to many groups in the Allegan area. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Allegan. Surviving are her husband, Martin, 3 children; Steven and Sherry Hughes of Gladstone, Daniel and Kathy Hughes of Plainwell, and Susan Busfield and Dale Halstead of Allegan, 5 grandchildren, many great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her sister, Ellen Walker. Friends may meet with the family on Sunday, December 4, from 3-5 pm at the Gorden Funeral Residence, Allegan Chapel, where funeral services will be held on Monday at 11am. Interment Oakwood Cemetery, Allegan. Memorials may be made to the charity of your choice.
