Kathryn Marie Cheyne (63) of Gobles, MI passed away peacefully on February 9th, 2024. Kathy was an animal lover; with a special love for horses, who never missed an opportunity to rescue and love an animal in need. As a child she dreamed of having horses and she finally realized that dream when she bought her farm in Gobles. She had a great love of Michigan and the outdoors, during her free time she enjoyed camping and traveling and exploring the great state of Michigan with her partner of 20 years. Kathy lived a life that sometimes was hard to bear but she always had a smile and a kind word for a stranger. She believed in the rights of woman and fought for the equality of all humanity, she cared deeply for our incredible planet and spoke passionately about our treatment of it. Kathy was a single mother of three girls, and she loved them beyond words raising them to be not only strong and independent but kind and loving woman.

Kathy is survived by her mother Laura Seeley, Troy Vandyke her partner in life of 20 years, siblings Rick (April) and Lisa Cheyne, stepsiblings; Jeff and Missy, three daughters; Sarah (Stan) Blodgett, Sharon Owens and Stephanie Owens, five grandchildren; Faye Hawley, Zachary Sharp, twins Hayden and Ashlynn Cramer and Owen Sharp and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by grandparents; Lawrence and Jeanne Gerou, brother; Russell Cheyne and Granddaughter; Hannah Sharp.

Kathy will be missed and celebrated by all who know her. Her love and kindness will live on in her friends and family. A celebration of life will take place at Minnie Sophrona's Restaurant & Bake Shop on Saturday, March 2nd, 2024, located at 200 Locust Street, Allegan, MI 49010, from 3:00pm - 6:00pm.
