Katheryn L. Emmons, 82 of Wayland, died Friday, October 4, 2002 at Metron of Allegan. Mrs. Emmons was born February 2, 1920 in Hopkins Township, MI the daughter of Edward and Viola (VanDuine) Spahn. She graduated from Hopkins High School in 1938 and following her marriage moved to Wayland. She was a member of the Hopkins United Methodist Church. Surviving are 2 brothers, Darrell (Fay) Spahn of Washington, Russell (Dorothea) Spahn of Florida; 3 sisters-in-law, Shirley Emmons, Mildred Emmons, and Darlene Bowens; 1 niece, Claudia Kilburn; special friends, Edith Edwards, Earalea Deveraux, and Martha Webster; and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband Morris in 1978. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at the Gorden Funeral Residence, Hopkins Chapel, where services will be held Wednesday 11:00 am. Pastor Reva Daniel officiating. Interment Maplewood Cemetery, Hopkins Township. Memorial contributions may be made to the Hopkins United Methodist Church.
