Allegan, MI, died Thursday, June 29, 2006 at Bronson Methodist Hospital. Katherine was born May 6, 1982 in Kalamazoo, the daughter of Brian and Cheryl (Huitt) Cook. She was a member of the Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd in Allegan, and was currently working in Battle Creek at Kellogg's for the past 1A½ years. Katherine graduated from Allegan High School in 2000 and went on to graduate from Western Michigan University, Magna cum Laude, Class of 2004. She loved to play tennis and was a valuable member of the Allegan Girl's Varsity Tennis Team. Surviving are her parents, Brian and Cheryl Cook; sister, Michelle Cook; grandmother, Mary Jo Cook; all of Allegan; 4 uncles, Bruce and Jill Cook of Plainwell, Brent and Debby Cook of Grandville, John Huitt of Allegan, Doug and Carma Huitt of Portage; 1 aunt, Lorie Woodhams of Allegan; 2 great aunts, Phyllis Palmer of South Carolina and Sharon and Pete Beardsley of California; several cousins. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Francis Cook, Marvin and Joan Huitt; and uncle, Tom Huitt. The family will receive friends Sunday from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. at the Gorden Funeral Residence, Allegan Chapel, where funeral services will be held Monday at 11 a.m. Pastor Joseph Phipps officiating. Interment Oakwood Cemetery, Allegan. Memorials may be made to the Episcopal Church Children's Chapel.
