Katherine Elizabeth Meade, 69 of Allegan, Michigan, passed away Sunday, September 12, 2021 at the Wings Home in Allegan. Born December 5, 1951 in Kalamazoo, Michigan, she was the daughter of late John and Faye (Mansfield) Collier and the wife of Harry Bert Meade, Sr. Kathy, as most people knew her, was a member of At the Master's Feet Ministry and had a strong faith in God. She was a strong woman who wasn't afraid to speak her mind. Some people may even call her "saucy." Kathy was a very caring person, along with being an excellent caregiver, who was there for her family. She raised her two children and then went on to become a stepmom to six more kids. When she had spare time, she enjoyed crocheting, needlepoint and crossword puzzle books. Traveling and seeing different areas of the country enticed Kathy. She and Harry loved to go camping and spend their time learning about different places and experiencing new things. Kathy loved being a mom and a grandma, spending time with her family and having their love and support. Kathy is survived by her husband of 26 years, Harry; her children, Valerie Thompson and Aaron Leroy Thompson; her six stepchildren, Jamie Meade, Rob Meade, Brian Meade, Becky (Jeremy) Handley, Harry B. Meade, Jr., and Diane Meade; two sisters, Mary Collier and Edith (Steve) Kullema; 15 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her six siblings, Judy Holland, Pat Scyler, Jim Kinkaid, Bruce Collier and John Collier. Friends may meet with the family at Gorden Funeral Residence, Allegan Chapel, on Thursday, September 16, 2021 from 11:00 AM - 3:00 PM, at which time they will proceed to Hicks Cemetery for the Graveside Service. Memorial donations may be made in Kathy's name to Wings Home, 530 Linn Street, Allegan, MI 49010. The family wishes to thank the Wings Home staff for their care during Kathy's time there.
