Kammie Sue Huitt, 58 of Allegan, Michigan, passed away on Thursday, December 10, 2020 at Ascension Borgess Hospital in Kalamazoo, Michigan. Born February 14, 1962 in Allegan, Michigan, she was the daughter of the late Marvin and Lena (Clemens) Huitt. Kammie was a loving mother who dedicated herself to her children as well as other people. She loved taking care of others and had a gift for seeing the individual in every person. Most of her working career was in the home health care business where she especially enjoyed working for MOKA the past eight years. Kammie was proud of herself for having 13 years of dedicated sobriety from alcohol. She understood how essential it was to take care of yourself and always wanted others to know that their health and wellbeing meant a great deal to her. In her spare time, she loved going to Gun Lake Casino and had a passion for bingo! She knew that life was about living and making the most of what you were given. She felt fortunate to have amazing people in her life and grateful for their love. Her giving and generous soul will be missed greatly. Kammie is survived by her daughter, Merry (Peter Porter) Greene; her son, Austin LaFountain; three grandchildren, London, Aspen and Krystin; five siblings, Carla Schafer, Jaime (Steve) LaFountain, Cheryl (Brian) Cook, John Huitt and Doug Huitt; her best friend, Chris LeClear; her Aunt Joyce; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her three siblings, Dan Huitt, Jack Addair, and Tom Huitt. The family will receive friends on Saturday, December 19, 2020 from 2:00 - 3:00 PM at the First Baptist Church of Allegan, with the Celebration of Life beginning at 3:00 PM.
