Obituary

Allegan, Michigan, died Tuesday, October 25, 2005 at the Allegan General Hospital. Mr. Taylor was born April 27, 1929 in Trowbridge Twp., MI, the son of Judson and Frances (Tompkins) Taylor. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving two tours of duty during the Korean Conflict from 1950 - 1954. During his second tour of duty, he served in the 26th Infantry Scout Dog Platoon in Korea and earned the Bronze Star for valor. He was a lifetime member of the Otsego V.F.W. Post #3030 and a member of the American Legion. He was a heavy equipment operator and was a member of the International Union of Operating Engineers for 38 years. Surviving are his wife, Susan; 1 daughter, Charlotte Huitt of Allegan; 1 stepson, Timothy Robinson, of Allegan; 5 grandchildren; 2 sisters, Joyce Stedman and Carrie (Norman) Oisten, both of Allegan; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son, Allan, son-in-law, Thomas Huitt, 1 brother, 2 sisters and 1 granddaughter. Friends may meet with the family from 9:30 a.m. Friday until time of funeral service at 11 a.m. Friday at the Gorden Funeral Residence, Allegan Chapel, www.gordenfuneral.com. Pastor Joseph Phipps officiating. Interment Trowbridge Methodist Cemetery with military graveside services by the Otsego V.F.W. Post #3030. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
