of The Villages, Florida, passed away Saturday, July 9, 2011, while at her summer home in Sandy Pines, Michigan, where her and her family have stayed for the past 13 years. Judy was born April 1, 1936, in Chicago, the daughter of Robert and Edith (Eizenga) Vandenberg, whom preceded her in death. Judy enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, dividing her time between her winter home in Florida and her summer home in Michigan. Her passions included riding everywhere in a golf cart, especially to the ice cream store, playing Bunco, watching the Chicago Bears, and going to church where she was a member of Lady Lake United Methodist Church. Her greatest pride was in raising her family, and greatest joy was spending time with them. Surviving are her loving husband, Wayne, of 52 years, 5 children; Kimm and Ernest McDowell, Colonel Keith and Eva Zuegel, Kristy and Greg Butler, Karen and Jim Warner, and Kathy and Jim Brantley, 18 grandchildren; Shane, Lindsay, Ashlee, Deanne, Kasee, Lauren, Randee, Morgan, Kelli, Evan, Michelle, Matthew, Austin, Allison, Brittanie, Erin, Kevin, and Natalie, 1 great granddaughter, Riley Grace, 1 brother, Leslie Vandenberg, several nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her 2 sisters; Patricia Garner, and Eileen Brand. Services will be held on Wednesday, July 13 at 12 noon, with a public visit from 11:30 till service time, at the Gorden Funeral Residence, Hopkins Chapel. Dave Van Noord will officiate. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the American Heart Assoc.
