Hopkins, MI, died Tuesday, August 7, 2007. Mrs. O'Patik was born December 25, 1939 in Ada, MI, the daughter of Henry and Margaret (Wayman) Berends. Surviving are 5 children, Rick and Sharon O'Patik of Colorado, Soni and Jeff Stevens of Chicago, Stacey O'Patik and Wendy Berg of Middleville, Connie and Tom McBride of Mattawan and Mik and Dana O'Patik of Dorr; 13 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; 1 brother, Roger and Maryann Berends of Byron Center; 2 sisters, Joyce Berends and Lina Berends; several nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband, Rudy, and son, Nik. Friends may meet with the family from 3 p.m. Friday until time of funeral service at 5 p.m. at the Gorden Funeral Residence, Allegan Chapel. Interment Maplewood Cemetery, Hopkins Twp. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice Care of Southwest Michigan or Wings of Hope Hospice.
