Martin Twp., MI, died Monday, September 27, 2004 at her home. Mrs. VandenBerg was born May 15, 1937 in Allegan, the daughter of Chester and Mae (Gorton) Carver. She was a graduate of Hopkins High School, class of 1954 and received her teaching degree from Western MI Univ. She was a long-time member of the East Martin Christian Reformed Church and had been employed as a caseworker for Allegan Co. FIA for more than 25 years, retiring in the mid 1990's. Surviving are 3 sons, Robert and Andrea VandenBerg of Martin, Kenneth VandenBerg of Holland and John and Korene VandenBerg of Plainwell; 6 grandchildren, Chase, Lindsey, Chet, Casey, Carly, and Canton. Friends may meet with the family from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the Gorden Funeral Residence, Hopkins Chapel. Funeral services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at the East Martin Christian Reformed Church. Pastor James Busscher officiating. Interment Maplewood Cemetery, Hopkins Twp., at 2 p.m. Friday. Memorial contributions may be made to the Allegan Co. Child Abuse and Neglect Council.
