of Holland, formerly of Allegan, died Wednesday, December 2, 2009 at the Holland Community Hospital. Mrs. Nimmo was born November 16, 1925, in Harbor Springs, the daughter of Fred and Vivian (Cruse) Scalf. Joyce graduated from Allegan High School in 1943. She was a past member of the 1st Presbyterian Church in Allegan, and worked for several years in the banking industry. Surviving are her 5 children; Errol Whitney of Holland, Paula Legg of Holland, Marc and Linda Whitney and April and Len Annaloro all of TX, and Kevin and Regina Nimmo Schwarz of Germany, 11 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, 2 nieces, Barb Goodwin and Anne Deatherage. Joyce was preceded in death by her husband, James, her son, Rick Whitney, 1 granddaughter, Lindsay Moore, 3 sisters; Janet Shipman, Frances Sitler and Virginia Scalf. Friends may meet with the family on Sunday from 3-5 pm at the Gorden Funeral Residence, Allegan Chapel, where funeral services will be held on Monday at 11 am. Interment Oakwood Cemetery, Allegan. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Assoc. or the Kidney Foundation.
