Joyce Lucille Jackson, 79 of Hamilton, Michigan, passed away peacefully early Tuesday, June 28, 2022 with her family by her side. Born February 8, 1943 in Chicago, Illinois, she was the daughter of the late Everett and Katherine (Rogers) Gott and the wife of the late Sonny Lee Jackson. Joyce was a fun-loving woman who knew when to take life seriously and when to just enjoy herself. She enjoyed playing bingo, riding her bike, crocheting, painting, building doll houses and watching The Incredible Dr. Pol. Her family knew her as someone who loved the holidays, especially Christmas, and was the best gift-giver! Joyce was also a loving and caring mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She loved to bake for her family and friends and made memorable goodies all through the year. Joyce also faced life gracefully with any hardship it brought to her, including the loss of her beloved husband early in her life. She was an amazing woman who left her family with beautiful memories to cherish and carry them forward. Joyce is survived by her children, Janet (Timothy) Collins, Karen (Israel) Acklen, Jeffrey Jackson (fiancée Sandie), Michael (Erin Goerner) Jackson; her daughter of love, Chaelynn Perkins; seven grandchildren, Tiannette, Lachrisha, Timothy, Ryan, Jeremy, Serrinea and Sonny; and eight great-grandchildren. Along with her husband and parents, Joyce was preceded in death by her son, Richie Jackson; daughter, Joyce Anne Jackson; granddaughter, Heather Collins; and her six siblings, Dennis Gott, David Gott, Richard Gott, Beatrice Smith, Robert Gott and Leo Gott. The family will receive friends on Friday, July 1, 2022 at Gorden Funeral Residence, Hopkins Chapel, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM, at which time the funeral service will begin. Burial to immediately follow in Salem Township Cemetery. The family wishes to thank Hospice of Holland for their tender care during the final days of their mother's life. Service Details.
