of Pullman, died at his home, Friday, March 26, 2010. Mr. Sumerix was born August 11, 1947 in Grand Haven, the son of Frank and Taletha (Herms) Sumerix. John was a Veteran of the United States Army having served 2 tours of duty in Vietnam. He was a long distance truck driver, and an avid sportsman, enjoying both fishing and hunting. He loved to ride motorcycles and quads. Surviving are his son, Tim of Zeeland, 1 brother, George and Judy Sumerix of Pullman, 3 sisters, Mary and Ted Hooker of Traverse City, Marlene and Elmer Carlson of Allegan and Vivian and Mitch Armentrout of Allegan, several nieces and nephews. Friends may meet with the family on Tuesday from 5-7 pm at the Gorden Funeral Residence, Allegan Chapel, where the Otsego Post 3030 will conduct Military Honors at 7pm at the Funeral Home.
