Obituary

Pullman, MI, died Monday, January 8, 2006 at the Allegan General Hospital. Mr. Severance was born March 16, 1929 in East Jordan, MI, the son of William and Marion (Malpass) Severance. He was a graduate of Bellaire High School. He was a long-time foundryman and had worked at East Jordan Iron Works and at Lapeer Foundry in Lapeer, MI. He was a member of the Allegan First Presbyterian Church for 12 years and was a past elder. He sold eggs, produce, flowers and fruit at the Allegan Farmers Market for many years. Surviving are his wife, Gloria; 6 children and their spouses, Diana and Gerry Bush of Hawks, Kathryn and Bill Severance of Lafferty, IN, John and Janet Severance of Port Sanilac, Patricia and Mike Tresnak of Brown City, Sandra and Gary Brayman of Cedar Springs, and Stephanie and Tim Murray of Bellaire; 3 step-children and their spouses, Anna and Tim Hixson of Oxford, Daryl and Molly Zorn of Holland and Kenneth and Janet Zorn of Zeeland; 14 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; 7 step- grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a step-grandson, Michael, and 4 sisters and 1 brother. Friends may meet with the family from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the Gorden Funeral Residence, Allegan Chapel. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the Allegan First Presbyterian Church. Pastor Joseph Phipps officiating. Interment McDowell Cemetery, Casco Twp. Contributions may be made to Wings of Hope Hospice or the First Presbyterian Church.
