of Allegan, died Sunday, September 9, 2012, at Bronson Hospital. John was born September 26, 1958, in Kalamazoo, the son of the late John F. and Doris (Purigraski) Hettinger. John loved the outdoors and enjoyed hunting, fishing and watching Nascar. He was the life of the party, and had a great sense of humor. He was currently employed by JCI in Holland, but had also worked for Cherry Valley Concrete in Plainwell, and Har-Glo Construction in Allegan. Surviving are his wife, Karen, 3 children; Shaylynn, Trenton and Noah Hunt, 2 sisters; Kathy and Tim Clawson, Cindy and Rob Forrest, 3 brothers; Steve and Karen Hettinger, Roger and Kim Hettinger, Kevin and Trina Blakeman, his step mother, Janet Hettinger, many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, September 11, at 2 pm, at the Merson Church, Pastor Alan Carson will officiate.
