John Lawrence Damber, Sr, age 65 of Allegan, died Monday, November 11, 2002 at his home. Mr. Damber was born April 30, 1937 in Allegan County, MI the son of Joseph and Esther (Pergande) Damber. He was a christian man, a heavy equipment mechanic and in the Marine Reserves for 8 years. Surviving are his wife June (Moeller), whom he married June 30, 1956; 6 children, Jerraldine & Joseph Sobota of Fennville, Janice & Glenn TenHarmsel of Mendon, Jennifer & Mike Garza of Holland, Jayne Damber of Texas, John Damber Jr. of Allegan, JoAnn & Jose Lara of Otsego; 13 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; his mother, Esther Damber of Allegan; 3 brothers, Edward & Dorothy Damber of Allegan, James & Marie Damber of Allegan, Thomas & Donna Damber of Burnips; 1 sister, Mary Ann & James Galiger of Allegan, several nieces and nephews, and a close family friend, Tina Rahn. He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph in 1999. Cremation has taken place, there will be no visitation or services. Interment Millgrove Cemetery, Valley Township.
