John Woodrow Baker, 83 of Hamilton, Michigan, passed away Wednesday, March 23, 2022 at his home with his loving wife by his side. Born December 22, 1938 in Victoria, Texas, he was the son of the late Delmar and Nadine (Bradley) Beadle and the husband of Nancy (Way) Baker. John was a true military man, serving honorably in the United States Army for over 30 years. During his time in the Army, John received a bronze star and two purple hearts, along with other decorations for his service. At the end of his service, he had achieved the rank of Sergeant Major. John continued with his service to others as a Mason and held the honor of 32nd Degree Mason for over 50 years. He had a genuine love for others (and his coffee!) and his actions throughout his life continually showed his loving and giving nature. John was dedicated to his wife and family and thoroughly enjoyed spending time with them. He made each day count and did his best to show his family how much he loved them.
John is survived by his wife of 60 years, Nancy; eight children, Martee Baker-Spreitzer, Aimee Baker, Tim Baker, Mark Baker, Falina Baker, Kaylonee Baker, Rachel Baker, and Francis Casares; and several grandchildren.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Patrick Baker.
John will be laid to rest at Fort Custer National Cemetery with full honors given. Gorden Funeral Residence, Allegan Chapel, is assisting the family with arrangements. Service Details. Memorial Service with Military Honors
