Jimmie H. Tyria, Allegan, went to be with his Lord, Thursday, March 1, 2007. Mr. Tyria was born July 2, 1942 in Brilliant, Alabama, the son of Floyd & Viola (Bolen) Tyria. Jimmie was an active member of the Assembly of God Church in Allegan, he served on the board, was president of the men's ministries and helped run the boy's group on Wednesday night. He loved the outdoors, and spent time camping, hunting and fishing. But his grandchildren were his first priority, he loved spending time with them. Surviving are his wife Faye, whom he married in June of 1994, 4 children, Tammie Wester, Trixie Cole, Tonia & Don Lamb all of Allegan, Richie & Michelle Woudstra of Kalamazoo, 5 step children, Brenda & Jess Noel of Montague, Tina Washburn of TN, Rhonda & Bruce Shoemaker of NC, Jim & Lori Evans of Allegan and Teresa Taylor of Dorr, 18 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, his father, Floyd Tyria of Plainwell, 1 brother, Bill & Bobbi Tyria of Mattawan, 1 sister, Mae Miller of Otsego, several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Jimmie was preceded in death by his mother, Viola, sister Mary Cormier, brothers, James and William Douglas. Friends may meet with the family on Sunday from 2-4 pm at the Gorden Funeral Residence, Allegan Chapel, where funeral services will be held on Monday at 11:00am. Pastor Paul Hays will officiate. Interment Poplar Hill Cemetery, Monterey Twp. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
