of Allegan, died Tuesday, January 21, 2014, at the Allegan General Hospital. Mr. Chestnut was born August 24, 1941, in Watervliet, the son of the late Jimmie and Virginia (Smith) Chestnut. Jimmie graduated from the Allegan High School in 1959. He farmed in the Allegan area most of his life, he loved the Allegan County Fair, racing horses, and tractor pulls with the "Wild Thing". At the end of life, Jimmie gave the Gift of Life... Surviving are his wife, Ann, 2 children: Janel Mankin, Jarrod Chestnut, 6 grandchildren: Reed, Jack, Lucille, Hanna, Jaxson, Jasper, 2 brothers: Harry and Jan Chestnut, Charles and Jane Chestnut, several nieces, nephews and cousins. A Celebration of Jimmie's Life will be held Sunday, August 10, 2014 from 12-4:00 P.M. at Trowbridge Township Hall.
