Jerry Michael Wolters, 73 of Allegan, passed away at his home on Wednesday, February 21, 2018. Mr. Wolters was born on January 11, 1945 in Holland, Michigan, the son of the late Gerald and Louise (VanDerMeulen) Wolters. After high school, Jerry served proudly in the United States National Guard. In 1971 he married Diane Thorpe and they began their family together. Jerry and Diane first owned and operated an ice cream business and then started their own pizzeria. Jerry later went on to purchase and manage real estate properties in both Ottawa & Allegan County. Jerry was dedicated to both his wife and daughters and was later blessed with 4 grandchildren. Jerry is survived by his wife of over 45 years, Diane; his daughter, Stacy (Dallas) Scholten; 4 grandchildren: Tyler Anderson, Mercedes Scholten, Serrana Scholten and Cadence Scholten; his sister, Margaret Lantrip; his son-in-law, Ronald Parker; 2 brothers-in-law: Ralph (Carol) Thorpe and William Thorpe; and 2 sisters-in-law: Cheryl Thorpe and Jane (Chuck) Zuverink. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Susan Parker and his sister, Beverly Dewitt; sister-in-law, Patricia Thorpe and brothers-in-law: Larry Thorpe and Raymond Lantrip. Friends may meet with the family on Monday, February 26, 2018 from 2:00 - 4:00 PM at Gorden Funeral Residence, Allegan Chapel, where the funeral service will begin at 4:00 PM.
