Jerry Dean Hall, 69 of Plainwell, MI passed away June 23rd, 2016 at Spectrum Hospital surrounded by his loved ones. Jerry was born August 3, 1946 in Mason, MI, the son of the late McCurdy and Thelma Hall. Jerry was a veteran of the U.S. army and was stationed in Germany from 1966-1968. On January 29th, 1969 he married the love of his life, Nancy Strohmier. During their 47 years of marriage they welcomed 4 children and 7 grandchildren who were the light of his life and one of his proudest achievements. Jerry loved hunting, fishing, yard work, gardening, reading outdoor magazines, singing along to music, and spending time with his family. He worked over 38 years with the General Motors stamping plant on 36th Street in Grand Rapids, retiring in 2006. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Nancy (Strohmier) Hall; his daughters: Melinda and Butch Glass, Sandy and David LaFountaine, and Wendy and Tim Graves; his granddaughters: Kristen Graves, Lauren Graves (Matt Laughlin), Maecy LaFountaine, Tori Glass, Maggie Zwart, Adrianna Trusty, and Sara Simmons; his sisters: Deanna Preston, Patsy Wuis, Carolyn Boss, Brenda Workman, Glenda Hodgeman, Lana Ball and his very special sister, Shirley Shue; along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his son, Dean Hall; grandson, Jerry Adam Hall-Graves; parents, McCurdy and Thelma (Patrick) Hall; his in-laws, Dick and Barbara Strohmier; and siblings: Fred Hall, Rick Hall, Donna Bitz, Sharon Owens, Pam Hall, Beverly Hall, Faron Hall and Patrick Hall. Friends may meet with the family on Monday, June 27 from 6-8pm at Gorden Funeral Residence, Allegan Chapel, where the funeral service will be held on Tuesday, June 28 at 11am, Pastor Richard Sheldon and Pastor Mike Risner officiating.
