Trowbridge Twp., Allegan, MI, died Monday, September 10, 2007 at his home. Mr. Petroshus was born August 5, 1936 in Plainwell, the son of Charles K. and Valeria (Gasunas) Petroshus. He was a life member of the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church and a 1954 graduate of Allegan High School. He had been a dairy farmer all his life in Trowbridge Twp., where he worked and raised his family with his wife, Virginia, and in recent years as partners of Petro Farms with his son, Randy. He had also worked at Rockwell Int'l for 6 years. He loved his grand kids and enjoyed farming, milking Holstein cattle and being actively involved in farm building projects and in many ag related board positions over the years. He was loved by many and will be sadly missed by all. Surviving are 3 children and their spouses, Judy and Bruce Weick and Connie and John Schaendorf, all of Allegan, and Randy and Marcy Petroshus of Gobles; 5 grandchildren, Ben (Nicole) Schaendorf, Nicole Schaendorf, Brad and Kelly Weick and Kaden Petroshus; 1 great-grandson, Jason; 1 sister, Alice (Jack) Smalla of Allegan; several nieces and nephews; 1 brother-in-law, Ken Smith of Florida; 2 sisters-in-law, Genevieve Petroshus of South Carolina and Mary Petroshus of Battle Creek. He was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia, 1 great-grandson, Shawn, 3 brothers, Frank, Edward, and Stanley, 1 sister, Irene Smith, and 1 nephew, David Petroshus. Friends may meet with the family from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday and 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the Gorden Funeral Residence, Allegan Chapel, where the Rosary will be recited at 5:30 p.m. Thursday. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. Rev. Fr. Alan P. Jorgensen, Celebrant. Interment in the Church Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church or Camp Kidwell.
