Jedidiah Daniel Smith, 29 of Hopkins, left this world all too soon on Thursday, December 14, 2017. He was born on September 29, 1988, the son of the late Fredrick Douglas and Michelle Lee (LaCourse) Smith. After his parents passed, Jedidiah and his brothers went to live with his grandparents, Lyle and Zada LaCourse, who raised them with lots of love and care. Spare time for Jedidiah was spent hunting or enjoying time with his nephews, usually taking them to the zoo or goofing around, making great memories together. Spending time with his Uncle Jeff was one of his favorite pastimes. The two of them shared a special bond and Jedidiah always looked to his uncle for guidance. The Christmas season was always a favorite time for Jedidiah - other than dealing with the cold weather. His caring nature and wonderful spirit will be missed. Jedidiah leaves behind his grandmother, Zada LaCourse; his brothers, Jacob (Vicky) Smith and Daniel Smith; his wonderful nephews, Landen Fredrick Smith and Aidan Andrew Smith; and many aunts, uncles and friends. Along with his parents, he was also preceded in death by his grandfather, Lyle LaCourse. Friends may meet with the family on Friday, December 22, 2017 from 12:00 - 1:00 pm at Gorden Funeral Residence, Hopkins Chapel, where the funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm. Memorial contributions may be made in Jedidiah's name to Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America (AAFA) or the Wounded Warrior Project. Interment at Miner Cemetery, Watson Township.
