Allegan, died Wednesday, December 17, 2008 at the Allegan General Hospital. Mrs. Nelson was born January 28, 1927 in Pittsburgh, PA, the daughter of William and Elizabeth (Waight) Perret. On April 21, 1946, in Pittsburgh, Jean married Fredrick Nelson who survivies. Also surviving are her 2 children, Carol and Joseph Wuis of Allegan and Fred W. "Fritz" and JoDee Nelson of Vicksburg; 8 grandchildren, Renee and Jeff Fonnet, Rinda and Ron Wahmhoff, John Wuis, Jennifer and Ryan Foster, Sarah Nelson, Emily Nelson, Aaron Bell and Amy and Jason Glenn; 5 great-grandchildren, Joshua, Zoe, Evan, William and Hunter; 1 sister, Virginia Lipke; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brother, William Perret. Friends may meet with the family on Sunday from 3-5 p.m. at the Gorden Funeral Residence, Allegan Chapel, where funeral services will be held Monday at 11 a.m. Pastor Paul Hays will officiate. Interment Oakwood Cemetery, Allegan. Memorials may be made to the Allegan Food Pantry, in lieu of flowers.
