Oshtemo Twp., Kalamazoo, MI, died Sunday, July 8, 2007 at Bronson Methodist Hospital, Kalamazoo. Miss Ellinger had been living in Kalamazoo since returning to Michigan in 1995. She was born January 18, 1913 in Allegan, MI, the daughter of Walter and Neva (Warner) Ellinger. She graduated from Allegan High School in 1930. She worked for five years in Washington D.C. as Executive Secretary to the Director of the Medical Sciences Division of the National Academy of Sciences. Most of the rest of her life, she spent in California. She lived in the San Fernando Valley and commuted to work in Los Angeles. Her first job there was in Warner Brothers Film Distributions offices. She worked many years in the executive offices of Bullock's Department Stores and retired from there in 1978. In retirement, she traveled quite extensively in Europe and the United States and returned to Allegan often to visit family and old friends. Surviving are 1 brother, Wayne Ellinger of California. She was preceded in death by a brother, Clifton, in 2007. According to her wishes, cremation has taken place. Interment Oakwood Cemetery, Allegan.
