Janice Sue (VanderWilk) Wolters, a beacon of adventurous spirit and loving warmth, passed away peacefully on March 22, 2024, in Allegan, Michigan. Born on November 11, 1952, in Holland, Michigan, Janice's life was a testament to the joy and beauty that can be found in the simplest of pleasures and the deepest of family bonds.

Janice's early years in Holland were filled with the nurturing love of her parents, Arie Jr. and Evelyn (Seitsma) VanderWilk, who preceded her in death. It was there that she cultivated a lifelong appreciation for the natural world and the importance of family. Janice carried these values throughout her life.

Blessed with a loving family, Janice was a devoted mother to her children, Dan and Derick Wolters, and a doting grandmother to Jacob, Zack, and Joseph. Her daughter, Michelle Mares, and her brother, Paul, greeted Janice when she passed with loving arms. Janice's sisters, Joanne, Shirley, Sharon, and Pat will fondly remember their sister's infectious enthusiasm for life and her ability to make every family gathering memorable.

Janice's interests were as varied as they were passionate. She found joy in collecting cardinals, a hobby that reflected her love for nature and the vibrancy of life. Her adventurous soul led her to explore the charming streets of Frankenmuth and the artistic enclaves of Saugatuck, always with a sense of wonder and excitement. The shores of Lake Michigan were a sanctuary for Janice, where she would walk and reflect, her thoughts as boundless as the horizon.

Family gatherings were the highlight of Janice's life, where she shared her love for WWE, with Bray Wyatt being her favorite wrestler. These events were often accompanied by her favorite meals from Pizza Hut and Vitales, as well as her cherished horror and zombie movies, which she enjoyed watching with her son Derick. These simple pleasures were the cornerstone of Janice's joy, and she relished every moment spent with her loved ones.

Janice's life was a portrait of an adventurous and loving soul, one who embraced every day with open arms and a ready smile. Her presence was a comfort, her laughter a melody, and her love a guiding light. As we say farewell to Janice Sue (VanderWilk) Wolters, we celebrate the indelible mark she left on the hearts of all who knew her. There will be a visitation at Gorden Funeral Residence, Allegan Chapel on Thursday, April 18, 2024, from 11:00am - 12:00pm with the service starting at 12:00pm officiated by Pastor Greg Carlson. Inurnment to follow at Oakwood Cemetery.
