of Allegan, died Wednesday, March 18, 2015, at Ely Manor. Mr. Veenkant was born March 14, 1939, in Allegan, the son of Ralph and Thelma (Gudith) Veenkant. Jim was a Veteran of the United States Army, 1st 83rd Artillery Unit. He worked for over 30 years at Rockwell, retiring in the mid 80's, he also worked for many years at the Allegan County Fair. Surviving are his 2 son's: Jerry and Jennifer Veenkant, Jeff and Bonnie Veenkant; 4 grandchildren: Jonathan, Aaron, Jamie, Tyler; 3, half brothers: Brian and Mary Kelsey, Terry and Robin Kelsey, Bruce Kelsey; his sister: Darlene and Ralph Hollander. He was preceded in death by his wife: Jeanette. A Private Military Graveside Service will be held at Oakwood Cemetery.
