Obituary

of Allegan. Passed away at his home, with his wife and stepson at his side, on Sunday, July 17, 2011. Age 88 years. He was born April 28, 1923 the son of the late Andrew and Florence (Richards) Stausholm. He graduated from Bloomingdale High School. He served with the U.S. Army during World War II. He belonged to the V.F.W. Post in Allegan. James worked for the Post Office in Allegan for 31 years, retiring in 1978. He was married to Nehldene Stausholm for 44 years, she preceded him in death in 1994. He then married Lois Heath; she survives him. He and Lois were in charge of the Allegan County Dinner held in Sebring, Florida for 6 years. Surviving besides his wife are a two nieces, Arleen Vanden Bosch of Payne Lake, and Amanda (Jay) Krause of Waterford; two nephews, David Kinderman of Holland and Christopher Vanden Bosch of Payne Lake; three step-sons, George (Michelle) Edwards of Indiana, Michael Edwards of Indiana, Roger (Nancy) Edwards of Florida; one step-daughter, Joyce (Paul) Bohannon of Indiana; thirteen grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; two great-great granddaughters. He was predeceased by his sister, Marion Kinderman in 1998. Committal service will take place 12:00 p.m. Thursday at Ft. Custer National Cemetery in Augusta. Pastor John Neese will officiate. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Wings of Hope Hospice. Arrangements by Gorden Funeral Residence, Allegan Chapel.
