Valley Twp., Allegan, MI, died Tuesday, May 1, 2007 at his home. Mr. Powell was born April 18, 1949 in Kalamazoo, the son of Robert H. and Geraldine (Terbeck) Powell. He graduated from Portage Northern in 1967 and from Ferris State University and had served in the Army Reserves for 6 years. He taught school in Three Rivers in the vocational education auto shop for more than 10 years. He also was an employee/partner for 19 years in James E. Fulton and Sons, Kalamazoo. Surviving are his wife, Cis; 2 children, Jason and Linda Powell of Vermont and Natalie Powell and Justin Wilson of Philadelphia, PA; 2 step-children, Patrick and Susan Rumery of Florida and Scot Rumery of Arizona; 4 grandchildren, Dylan, Grant, Sean and Megan; his parents, Robert H. and Geraldine Powell of Kalamazoo; 1 brother, Robert and Linda Powell of Kalamazoo; 1 sister, Linda Powell of Grand Rapids; 1 niece and 1 nephew, Matt and Logan. Memorial services will be held Friday at 5 p.m. at the Gorden Funeral Residence, Allegan Chapel. Contributions may be made to Wings of Hope Hospice.
