James E. Jacobs, 76, of Trowbridge Township, passed away Tuesday, March 1, 2016 at his home. Mr. Jacobs was born in Chicago, Illinois on December 25, 1939, the son of the late Harry H. and Ruby P. (Harmon) Jacobs. Jim worked for Rockwell International for over 20 years and also owned and operated his own business for over 30 years, Jim's Small Engine Repair Service. He and his late wife, Ryna "Lee" enjoyed building two log homes together with their children. Some of his passions included riding horses, working in the garden, woodworking and especially his collection of Farmall tractors, although the time spent with his family meant the most to him. Jim is survived by his 3 children: James Jacobs, Jeffrey and Nancy Jacobs, Cindy Jacobs and Kevin Deppe; 13 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; 1 brother, Roger and Deloris Jacobs; and 1 sister, Sharon Arwood. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Ryna "Lee" Jacobs. A memorial service will be held on Monday, March 7th at 3:00 PM at the Merson Church in Gobles, Pastor Alan Carson officiating.
