James Howard Hartman, 83, of Allegan, MI passed away Friday, November 22, 2024 at Wings Home in Allegan.  Born January 9, 1941 in Celina, OH, he was the son of the late Howard and Mary (Dorsen) Hartman and was the husband of Patricia (Armstrong) Hartman.  James had worked for Rockwell International for 30 years prior to his retirement.  He was also a 30-year member of the Allegan Fire Department and was an EMT.  James enjoyed being outdoors.  Hunting, fishing and farming were among his favorite pastimes.  Most of all, though, James loved to spend time with his family and will be dearly missed.

In addition to Patricia, his wife of thirty-eight years, James is survived by his children, James (Lisa) Hartman, Jr., Vicki Hainer, Jennifer (Mark) Haveman, Becky (Corey) Johnson and Justin (Lisa) Woodhans; sister, Diane (Tim) Wilcox; sister-in-law, Sandi Hartman; seventeen grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

In accordance with his wishes, cremation has taken place.  James will be laid to rest in Mallory Cemetery.  Memorial donations to Allegan Fire Department, 300 Monroe Street, Allegan, MI 49010.  Gorden Funeral Residence, Allegan Chapel, is assisting the family with arrangements.
