age 69, of Allegan, went to be with his Lord and Savior with his family by his side Monday, June 9, 2014 at Borgess Medical Center in Kalamazoo, Michigan. He was born February 28, 1945 in Kalamazoo, Michigan the son of Orval Evans and Mary Edna (Harrington) Sanders. James will be remembered for loving to sing his southern gospel as well as loving to watch his grandkids play sports. He was a long time member of the M-40 North Church of God, Allegan. He was also a long time member of the Moose Lodge. James is survived by his children: Brenda Lee (Jess) Evans Noel, Tina Marie Evans Washburn, Rhonda Lynn (Bruce) Evans Shoemaker, James Orval (Lori) Evans Jr, Teresa Joy Evans Taylor; his fourteen grandchildren: Daniel, Alicia, Makenna, Matthew, Meaghan, Cody, Ryan, Zachary, Brady, Courtney (Dustin), Eric, Krista, Gavin, Stacy; his six great-grandchildren: Alex, Lillian, Alexis, Kaylee, Evan, Dylan; and his brothers: Robert (Marti) Evans, Sonny (Pat) Evans, Richard (Kay) Evans. He is preceded in death by his parents; his brothers: Orval Evans Jr, David Evans, Bruce Evans, Burl Evans, Merl Evans; and his sister Violet Mollitor. Friends may visit with the family on Thursday, June 12, 2014 from 12-2:00 P.M. at Gorden Funeral Residence, Allegan Chapel, until the time of the Funeral at 2:00 P.M. Pastor Nathan Strom will be officiating. Interment is at Hudson Corners, Allegan Township.
