James Duryee of Hopkins, MI, passed on Sunday, May 3, 2026. James was born to his late parents Everett and Lilian (Puschel) Duryee on July 16, 1946. James was an accomplished maintenance man working for his father’s Mobile Gas Station in Hopkins before transitioning to the Allegan General Hospital for 27 years before he retired. Outside of work, James was a lifetime member at the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Hopkins. He loved to serve and was the caregiver for both his mother and aunt Vivian Roberts before they passed. James loved to fish and take his camper on camping trips throughout Michigan. He also was a Ford Truck enthusiast and believed it was the only truck to own.

He is survived by many cousins and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

James’s funeral service will be on Tuesday, May 12, 2026, from 12:00 PM – 1:00 PM with an hour’s visitation from 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM all at the St. Paul Lutheran Church, 2907 24th Street, Hopkins, MI 49328. A graveside service to follow at Maplewood Cemetery.
