age 74, of Allegan, passed away Tuesday, July 1, 2014 at Ely Manor, Allegan. He was born October 14, 1939 in Allegan, Michigan, the son of Cecil and Hattie (Wolters) Burdick. James graduated from Allegan High School in 1958. In 1960, he married his high school sweetheart, Linda Ross. He is a graduate of Ferris State University. He had worked at Ace Engravers, Plainwell; Stoney Ford Car Sales, Gobles; Merson Grocery; and in Home Improvement. James had an appreciation for old cars, woodworking, and fishing, but most of all he loved spending time with his grandchildren and attending their sporting events. James is survived by his beloved wife Linda; his daughters: Melissa (Jon) Drozd, Elizabeth (Scott) Engelsman, Jennifer (Jerry) Veenkant; his grandchildren: Jake, Ryan, Kelly (Allison), Chris (Kaileigh), Jim, Nicole, Allison, Jonathan (Holly), Jamie (Jordan); his sisters: Sally Fairfield, Phyllis (Dennis) Kellar; and several nieces, nephews and cousins, as well as several wonderful friends. Friends may join the family for a Celebration of Life on July 20, 2014 from 2-5:00 P.M. at Allegan Township Hall, with a short service at 2:00 P.M.
