He was preceded in death by his siblings Bernice McCrary, Henry Brown, and Jessica Hughes, and is survived by his sister, Melody Hughes of Illinois.
Jimmie was a dedicated and hardworking man who spent many years employed at Bohn Aluminum in Holland, where he faithfully worked until his retirement in 1995.

Jimmie leaves to cherish his memory of his beloved wife, Marjorie Stevenson of Allegan; his daughter, Shena Young of Houston; and his grandchildren, Darius Vonrossum of Plainwell and Dorian Vonrossum of Phoenix.
He also leaves behind his stepchildren, Diana Stevenson Monroe of South Bend IN (Dale), and Dela Dandridge of Atlanta. He was preceded in death by his stepson, Lloyd Stevenson. Jimmie additionally leaves behind a host of children, step-grandchildren Dion and Alexis Stevenson, nieces and nephews, relatives, and friends.
Fisherman’s Tribute Poem
He cast his line in quiet waters, Beneath God’s open sky. He found his peace in nature’s song, Where stillness never dies.
The lake is calm, the line is still, The morning air runs deep. God called him to a peaceful shore, Where faithful souls now sleep.
